Salsomaggiore Terme è famosa per il turismo termale perchè rinomata per le sue acque fortemente saline.La cittadina era già nota per questo sia ai tempi dell'Antica Roma che fra i Celti, ma le sue proprietà curative furono scoperte e confermate solo nel 1839 dal medico Lorenzo Berzieri.

Salsomaggiore, per chi non lo sapesse ancora, si trova nella provincia di PARMA , ed è un centro termale molto popolare. Questo è dovuto al fatto che  è ricca di acque fortemente salsobromoiodiche ed ipertoniche, che vengono  estratte da pozzi artesiani alla profondità di 800-1200 metri.

Ovviamente la più grande attrazione della cittadina sono le TERME situate nel centro cittadino.Il Palazzo delle Terme(THERMAE BERZIERI) è una struttura in stile LIBERTY e ART DECO ed è considerato l' unico esempio di Art Deco termale.

All'interno del Palazzo Berzieri c'è la SPA, un Istituto Chimico ed un'Officina farmaceutica e cosmetica.

La facciata fu ridisegnata con leggere modifiche  dal pittore e scultore fiorentino Galileo Chini che si ispirò alle architetture orientali che aveva studiato durante i suoi viaggi a Bangkok,Tailandia, tra il 1911 ed il 1914.

Durante il regno di Maria Luigia d'Austria , seconda moglie di Napoleone I e Duchessa di Parma, Piacenza e Guastalla, Salsomaggiore fu riconosciuta come uno dei centri termali di maggiore importanza proprio per le sue acqua terapeutiche e benefiche e divenne uno dei più famosi centri termali d'Europa.

Sono tanti i materiali usati fra cui il marmo rosso di Verona, il bianco di Carrara, i gialli di Siena, il bianco di botticino di Rezzato, il travertino di Rapolano.

La cerimonia d'inaugurazione nell'era "moderna" fu nel Maggio del 1923.

Salsomaggiore est située dans la province de Parme. Il est une ville thermale populaire pour son waters.Due fortement saline à sa teneur en sodium, teh eaux de Salso appartient au groupe des eaux salées, une variété bromo-iode-sel. Hypertonique et eaux froides extraites des puits artésiens, 800-1200 mt (2600-3900 pi) de profondeur à une température de 16 ° C (61 ° F).

L'attraction principale dela ville  réside naturellement dans les thermes, notamment le "Thermae" situées au centre ville. Pendant le règne de Marie-Louise d'Autriche (2ème épouse de Napoleaon I), Duchesse de Parme, Salsomaggiore a été reconnue comme une  SPA de grande attraction pour des fins thérapeutiques et en devenant  l'un des plus célèbres endroits thermaux  en Europe .

Le Palais Berzieri est l'un des biens spa de style "Liberty" et "art déco". La structure est considérée comme le seul exemple de SPA  entièrement en Art Deco . A l'interieur, il y a la SPA , un institut chimique et un laboratoire  pharmaceutique et cosmétique .Sa façade a été conçue avec de légères modifications du sculpteur florentin et peintre Galileo Chini qui a été inspiré par l'architecture orientale qu'il avait étudiée pendant ses voyages à Bangkok, en Thaïlande, entre le 1911 et le 1914.

La plupart des structures sont fait avec  le marbre rouge de Vérone, le blanc de Carrare, les jaunes de Sienne, le blanc botticino de Rezzato, le travertin de  Rapolano, etc,,

Les Thermae ont été ouvertes officiellement , aprés les restructurations, en Mai 1923.

Salsomaggiore Terme is famous for its worldwide known  thermal tourism due to the presence of  its highly saline waters. The  town waters were already known  in the  ancient Rome and among the Celts, but its healing properties were discovered and confirmed only  in 1839 by doctor Lorenzo Berzieri.

Salsomaggiore is located in the province of Parma(so nearby me!). It is a popular SPA town .

Due to the strong sodium content, the waters of Salso belong to the group of salty waters, a bromo-iodine-salt variety . These hypertonic and cold waters are extracted from artesian wells, at 800 to 1200 mt(2600 to 3900 ft) of depth  at a temperature of 16°C ( 61°F).

Of course the main attraction  of the town lies in the Baths, notably the "Thermae", situated in the center of the town. During the reign of Marie Louise of Austria (2nd wife of Napoleaon I), Duchess of Parma, Salsomaggiore was recognized as a SPA attraction for therapeutic purposes and became one of the most famous and celebrated SPA places in Europe. 

The Palace Berzieri is one of best example of  "Liberty" and "art deco" styles and it is considered as  the only example of SPA in Art Deco .

Inside the structure, there is a SPA , a chemical institute and a  pharmaceutical and cosmetic laboratory. The facade of the Palace  was designed with light modifications by the Florentine sculptor and painter Galileo Chini who was was inspired by the oriental architectual style  he could study during his travels to Bangkok, Thailand, between 1911 and 1914.

Many of the materials used including the red marble of Verona, the white marbre of Carrara, the yellow marbres of Siena, the white botticino marbre of  Rezzato, the Rapolano travertine.

The opening ceremony of the "modern era" was on May 1923 .
